WOULD is a helping verb…..
To my understanding, will and shall are used in future tense of course.
But would and should aren’t only used in past tense. (YAHI HAI ZINDAGI KA ASLI FANDA)
Sometimes
1. “would“ is a polite way to give an ask question:
Would you like to have your dinner with me?
2. “Would“ be applied to Subjunctive If Clauses:
If I were rich, I would buy a Benz.
If I had won the prize, the life would have changed.
3. “Would” and “should” have the meaning of “past” when their usage like this:
I would have done the essay.
I could have done the essay
4. Would (or the contracted form ‘d) is sometimes used as an alternative to ‘used to’ when discussing past habits:
- ‘When we were young, we would spend (we‘d spend) every summer holiday at the sea-side.’
- ‘You would find him (you‘d find him) sitting at the bar every lunchtime, drinking that strong black beer and chatting to the bartender until one day he was there no longer.’
