Changes in JMET-2009

Apparently for the first time in the history of MBA exams in India, the test will not be of 2 or 2.5 hr duration. Yes,the JMET 2009 will be of 3 hours duration. The test will consist of 120 questions (objective / multiple choice type). In comparison to previous years the test duration has been increased by 30mins, but number of questions are decreased by 30. So, there is definite expected change in the level of questions.

Are you baffled by this? Don’t be. Because at the end of the day what they are testing are your skills in Verbal Communication , Logical Reasoning , Quantitative Ability , Data Interpretation . And these, you must have been honing for last few months. Take this as another challenge, see some of the previous JMET paper, acclimatize yourself with the type of questions and most importantly prepare yourself to sit for 3 hrs.

All the best to all of you. Be a fighter

what would be the expected change in the level of question . what should i target to score well .

According to me, Quant will remain tough as usual, DI will be OK, LR could be scoring, English will be difficult because till last year English was the only section which I found attemptable, especially the verbal portion. But this year since they have increased the time, they will work on English part too.

So just target your strength of individual sections. Do not target any individual section.

    Hi, shiv

well, If you have gone through last year question paper(please go through it if you havent)…the QA section is totally application based which means the number of attempts will be on the lower side , and will be the cut off for this section(if similar pattern follows this time too). English and LR are 2 sections where you can plan to shoot up ur score. Though it is expected that passages in Eng. will be more on tougher side. DI is again something which can be made unbearable mainly by lengthy calculation. But, again I second Gaurav’s point that dont focus on individual section too much rather stick to ur strengths on various sections….
