Well after last post of mine, you must be wondering about the new module tutes is going to lauch or may be not. Whatever be the case, today I am announcing our New download box section to our readers. Box.net first of all was expansive for me, secondly it takes too much time to load and many users of MBAtutes do not have the broadband connection. Before I drill down to the features of our download box, I want to tell that you can subscribe to our Facebook Page or the MBAtutes Twitter account for the latest buzz in the MBA industry.

Loads Faster, More Interactive, Search with keyword, Filter with Date/Downloads.

Till now you have to wait for the box to appear and then drill down to the relevant folder/file. Well now that will not be the case and the download page will immediately appear.

1) Download box/page immediately open after clicking the link on the head of this page or by clicking the banner towards the right side of this page. Here’s the screenshot of the page.

2) You can see what is popular in the download section in the Popular download section which is just below the search box(covered in next point).

3) You can search a file in the download section by keywords. For e.g if you are looking for sample papers of CAT, just put ‘CAT Sample papers’ in the search box and the result will bring all the sample papers of CAT. If result is not appropriate change/imporve the keyword you have used.

4) You can also filter the material with date/no. of downloads. Here’s the screenshot:

Well Publications Division Ministry of Information & Broadcasting (PDBN) has launched the official 54th edition of India 2010 reference manual. It contains all the facts, statistics and data of different sectors of India like: Agriculture, Commerce, Defence, Education etc which are too often asked in different competitive examinations including few MBA exams. It is a 1292 page manual with loads of data to chew, so if you are any coaching institute, then this manual will help you in making notes for students.

And if you are a student, then you have to be smart enough to filter out the data you need. You should make the notes after filtering out the concerned data. A good tool to make notes online is: google notebook, and a good offline tool is One-Note of microsoft.

What I have seen is students do make a calendar in which they write the date or week by which they will finish a particular chapter but all in vain. It’s very common, even I do it; so after taking the learnings I’ve decided to come up with a new initiative and that is – I will provide you one chapter of Quant in the form of an ebook every week.

In each chapter I will provide you the theory part and some illustrative examples. I have collected this material through various BRMs and textbooks. The text is not the copy of any particular material/book. My motive is to provide you a reason to go through a chapter once again each week. I will release this material under GPL and the visitors of MBAtutes can download and distribute it free.

We all are busy these days in CAT preparation. I understand that you guys have not been in touch lately for your CAT preparations must be going on in full swing.

Same is the case here. My classes(teaching) is going on in full swing. Normal Classes, Strategy classes, Workshops, Doubts clearing, How to improve percentile classes, how to decide what all forms one should fill and what not.

Without wasting much of your time, I want to give you all a taste of our test series. And so I am loading one of our test here.

Oh ya!! I have forgotten(forgetting) loading answers-cum-sloutions here, so as to ensure no one has any temptations to see the solutions before writing the test.

Now-a-days I am reading Gitanjali by Rabindranath Tagore. This is the book which brought the Nobel prize to Tagore. This is the real piece of literature. Seriously, I had never read anything like this, not in the philosophical terms but in terms of language used. For me this is really phodu. A must read for MBA aspirants because until and unless we will read the phodu (;)) content online, we won’t feel that CAT passages are not so difficult. And we need that aptitude to crack the CAT passages. So make sure that you are reading some phodu content also, apart from the normal Hindu, TOI, Frontline, BT, BW etc. Also now start focusing on readin the material on computer. I will keep bringing some good stuff to read online.BTW, this work is under public domain, so you can also distribute it among your friends without worrying about the copyright issue.

The main significance of this book is that its very concise and you should read a single page everyday. Reading a single page sounds better than 2-3 pages of barrons. It’s like purchasing a product worth Rs. 99 than the product worth Rs.100. Though number of words are same but the feel of one page and 2-3 page is different. So if you also feel the same then click the title of the file in order to download the file directly from SCRIBD. Make your target of single page and you will be able to complete this list in approx 3.5 months. Also there is no harm in downloading it for your future purpose.

Through IMS learning centre.

Today I find a free tool for practicing your vocabulary. This is a very interactive software with lot of words. Just download the Barron plus book which has 4842 words and start practicing. This tool is very interactive. You can also make study cards of difficult words and revise them whenever you are free. Default sound mode is not very good but who needs it; when you have internet you can listen to the words at “thefreedictionary“. There are lot more good interactive tools which are difficult for me to explain in this post. To take the feel of these tools you have to download it.

GMAT mode has 300 words. Also good for SAT, GRE, TOEFL students. Click on the image to go to the site and start downloading. It’s Free.

Are you still searching the source where you can find tests to practice? If yes, then you have once again come to the right place. Yesterday, I came across the site of TCYonline where you can register it for free and chose the topic of test which you want to give. All you have to do is register for free. List of topics is beside this text.

Problem: You can select only two topics from the list.

Solution: You can make multiple accounts. I haven’t tried it but I’m sure they won’t caught you. Only thing is you would require more than one email account and with so many email providers; I don’t think it’s not an issue.

You can also refer this to your younger cousins who are in school or preparing for any other competitive exams as “Nishkaam Seva” is what our “Bhagwat Gita” teaches. It will also help you improving your PR (public relation) skills.

If you feel trouble while solving such questions then you should read this e-book which has given all the concepts for solving such questions. It’s very descriptive. It’s a 500 (approx) page e-book but if you fully read this book, then I can assure you that you will feel confident while attempting such questions. Me too is reading this book and whatever I’ve said is on the basis of personal experience. So, save it and try finishing it within 20 days. If you can give time to your “Fountain Head” (752 pages) then I think its (LR guide) not a big deal.
